Sunday Evening Program Returns!
The River Introduces "Open-Air Worship" beginning July 12!
Since March 15, we’ve been hosting online Sunday evening worship. Can you believe it will have been 4 months since we met on Sunday evening in person? We understand that 2020 has been filled with fear and uncertainty about our health, our financial security, and the overall tension in the world around us. We hope you have found strength in Jesus and comfort in our online services during this time.
The River will provide safety precautions as we return to an in-person worship service beginning July 12, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. We will be launching our outdoor “Open-Air Worship” through the summer and into early fall.
We’ve added picnic tables and tents so we can maintain social distancing. New terms such as “touchless” and “contactless” are finding their way into our hospitality (food/beverage) ministry. We will have hand sanitizer and masks available. In essence, we share your concerns about easing into gatherings of more than 50 people and hope you recognize The River as a safe haven in every sense of the word!
So, what else is new and different on Sunday evenings?
So glad you asked!
This summer, we are increasing our community outreach and you’ll see some other changes (good ones!), as
we prepare for growth. There will be ministry stations surrounding the pavilion, encouraging existing church family and newcomers to explore and engage in these programs:
- Young Adults Ministry
- Kids Ministry
- Youth Ministry
- Small Groups
- First Touch Ministry
Because we’ll be outdoors, there will be a special tent for childcare and children’s programs, but you can expect our evening to begin with hospitality, followed by music worship, an inspirational/educational message from our pastoral team, and fellowship. Everything you’ve come to expect and enjoy! It all starts at 5:00 p.m. at 18125 Furrow Road in and around the pavilion!
We cannot wait to see you again face-to-face and heart-to-heart! God bless!
